PARTAAAAAY...

We had a luau theme bbq today for Reese and Kurts bdays. Two big celebrations...turning one and turning 30 (in a few days). It was lots of fun...

Here is a quick recap...

I ordered Reese an adorable 3 tiered cake (to make up for the slack I got from Rebecca for being a bad mom for not making her a homeade cake) and was thrilled with how cute it ended up...and REALLY yummy too. Kurt got a bday apple pie...which I found out candles dont stick in too well.

Lots of good friends and family...Reeses Godfaher Napalm (of course not his REAL name) was here from TX (we missed you tons Rebecca and kiddos!!!!), aunt Lisa came in from Ohio, Aunt Debbie and Uncle Steve, and of course lots of our AF family. Thanks to everyone for being here...we love you all!!!

It was REALLY hot so we stayed inside most of the time...but ventured out in the evening for the kids to splash and even a few brave souls swam in the pool (I still think it is too cold...but the Rosales kiddos loved it!!!)

Reese and Kurt both got some very sweet gifts...most of Kurts were liquid but a few had to do with the bday gift he bought himself. In case you havnt heard he ordered a BMW. It is being made in Germany right now...should be here in about 6 weeks!!!! It will also be his 31st, 40th and 50th bday gifts too:)

Oh..and I forgot to take pics of the decorations which I spent a ton of time on..will try to get some today...but it just wont be the same:(

He notices when I paint my toes etc..and yesterday he would only drink out of a pink cup. One Year Ago Today...

Kurt and I welcomed a beautiful little girl into the world. What a crazy and amazing year it as been. Reese is one of our greatest blessings (the other is the best big bro in the world) and we truly can not imagine our lives without that huge smile and those big blue eyes. What a feisty little girl we have and I know that the years ahead will bring many more stories that start with the words "Can you beleive Reese ___________". There have been days that Kurt and I wondered how we could ever handle 2 babies so close in age....and now a year has flown by and we have a toddler boy and a big one year old girl. As difficult as it can be on days when you are exhausted, irritable, and overwhelmed....never forget to look at your children and be amazed!!! How lucky we are as parents to have the important job of raising our little ones. So...Happy Birthday Reesey Piecey...we love you more than words could ever express!!!!

As many of you know, David Mitchell, a student pilot in Kurts squadron died in a crash here at Luke in March...

His wife Kristi is expecting their baby boy in July...

We had a playgroup with our neighborhood moms today in the backyard...the kids had a blast.

Keegan's first OREO...

which of course ended up being Reese's first oreo too...

Keegan was very serious and wanted to make sure he did it right. He figured out how to get to the cream right away...loved dunking it in milk (although he did complain about being sticky...big surprise huh???) and was ready for another one in no time!!!!

For those of you who know Kurt (aka Nate), you will be releived to know that he didnt take after his father and lick the cream out of the cookie and put the cookie part back in the package.

Just wanted to say happy mothers day to my own mom's....and all of my friends and family out there who have been blessed to have children. I hope you have a wonderful day...you deserve it...raising a kiddo is the most difficult and most important job (and yes...the most rewarding too) in the world. And dont forget to say a prayer for all of the little ones out there who are not so fortunate to be surrounded with a loving and supportive family. a little catching up

Here are some pics from when Grandma and Gradnpa D (aka Nonnie and Boppa) were here. As always it was a nice visit and the kiddos had a blast. We even got an evening out and mommy had a few margaritas!!!! Of course when I had a sinus headache the next morning Kurt didnt beleive me and said the problem was tequila. Oh..and Kurt got a fun day too...test driving cars with his dad. Pics of the result of the boys day out should be on here in a few months once the "souvenier" arrrives from Germany:) The pics are a little out of order...but it is late and I need to get to bed.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMM....can you guess why grandpa had to put on new clothes after breakfast. Wardrobe changes are a frequent event in this house.

up to no good...

Here are some random pics from the last few weeks...and as you can see just about everyone has been up to no good!!!

Summer is here...and the AC is on...so the fountain in our neighborhood is a popular place with my kiddos (and their buddies).

Reese is all over the place and climbing now. She has even learned to push things up to something else to create a step...which is how she ended up doing a balancing act on top of a case of diapers. She is starting to really talk...and her 3 favorite words are dada, boppa (she heard Keegan say it a MILLION times during Kurts parents visit and she is a mima bird), and baby. She started saying baby after a visit from Amelia who is a few months old. She will eat just about anything as long as it isnt a fruit or a vegetable...so she eats what we eat but has to still have baby food fruits and veggies...

Keegan is starting to test my patience...he has mastered the art of tuning me out (did he learn this from his father???) and telling me NO. Hence he has spent a decent amount of time in time out...which really doenst seem to work but it gives me a few moments to regroup. Any good toddler behavior tips..I am all ears!!!! On the other hand he is still SUPER SWEET. He randomly gives kisses and hugs...says "bless you" whn you sneeze...and sings "twinkle twinkle" to Reese when she is sad. He LOVES being outside and throws a complete tantrum when he has to come in(fun since it is already getting pretty hot here!!!!. He is can count to 10, identify most colors (his fav is blue), loves bubble baths and can identiy makes and models of cars (he starts yelling "Michaela" every time he sees a Durango...yes he loves you Michaela!!!!) He knows all of his sports (basketball is his favorite right now), has trouble with the letter "M", and his new favorite word is "Dude". I thought this had to be Kurts fault...but have caught myself saying it in the car to bad drivers several times this week:)

And...as you can see in the pic our dog Jack Daniel hasnt been behaving well either. I walked in on him on top of the kitchen table finishing the kids lunch (sound familiar mom and dad R???). He has NEVER gotten on top of a table before. He is 6 years old and is now deciding to act up!!!

Nothing much new with Kurt and I...just trying to team up against the kids and the dog so we dont lose control!!!!

So...the D10 house is complete insanity!!! I wouldnt trade it for anything...but every now and then I do have to leave and have a few hours to myself to pretend I am normal:)

(and just in case I havent mentioned it before...Kurt tells me all the time that our kids are in their diapers too much in the pics and videos. I swear they really are dressed most of the day...but in my defense I also like to let their skin air out since thay are both eczema prone. Kurt just thinks it looks like they are trailer park kids)

Monkey business. Whenever Reese wakes up from a nap Keegan SPRINTS into her room and they usually entertain each other for quite some time.


This is Reese's life...Keegan always wanting what she has...she is patient but after a while decides to put up a fight.

Here is one of Keegans temper tantrums. This one is pretty mild...and you can see how serious it is since he almost forgot in the middle of the fit that he is mad.

The kids love this fountain...Reese isnt so sure though. Hours of FREE (kurts favorite word!!!) fun.
