No fireworks:(

Due to lightening and wind (gotta love monsoon season in AZ)we didnt get to top off our 4th of July with fireworks. We are hoping that there will be some rescheduled so we can take the kids. We just had a relaxing day with the kiddos. First we went to Main St and watched the bicycle parade and saw the firetrucks (Keegan was in HEAVEN) It was WAY hot and kinda humid so we came home to the AC and wathced the annual hotdog eating contest on TV (which still has me ready to vomit!!!!), and then went out to the pool while the kids napped. We went to Red Robin for burgers ( it just seemed too hot to stand outside and grill) and when we came home Keegan and I made patriotic cookies. We bought Keegan bang pops...you know, the things that pop when you throw them on the ground and he LOVED them. A few friends came over late in the evening and we walked up to the golf course to find out the the fireworks had been cancelled. The kids were just excited to be up late...and we lucked out when both slept in this morning...

So...not too much to photograph...but here are a few pics from the day:) You can at least see the kids cute red, white, and blue outfits. They actaully had a wardrobe change...so you dont get to see Keegans cool tye dye shirt or Reeses cute dress.

steak and shake???

So...this morning brought back memories!!!!

About 5 years ago my nephew Logan (who is now 13...tear!!!!) was at Kurts UPT graduation in Mississippi and Kurt put his uniform hat on him. He was soooooo excited to get to wear Uncle Kurty's hat...but then in all seriousness asked why pilots wore Steak and Shake hats:)

This morning Keegan went into our closet and got Kurts had out of his flight suit pocket...

I couldnt help taking pics. Doesnt he look like a pirate with it on sideways??? I will have to find the pic of Logan so you can see that these two are truly two peas in a pod!!!!!

Another avaition related story...

Keegan LOVES seeing the F16s fly over the house...and when he sees them he tells me that it is daddy. Not an uncommon story for the kiddos of fighter pilots. The funny part is that he then really excitedly tells me that "daddy flies a fast airplane, an F16, a yellow F16" I have no idea why he thinks it is yellow. When he sees any other airplane he tells me that it is a slow airplane and that it isnt daddy's. And the sweetest thing he does is when Kurt leaves in the morning. It is quite a production. He gives Kurt a hug, a kiss, a high 5, knuckes, shakes his hand...then walks him to the door and tells him to "be good", "drive safe", and "fly fast" My little man is growing up...and turning into a very detail oriented little guy. I cant imagine where he gets that from (hint, hint...it isnt ME!!!!)

ARGGHHHHHH!!!!!!
These 2 just kinda look alike!!!!

She's a COWGIRL!!!!

If you remember Keegan wearing this hat there pics will be very entertaining...

Thanks Nav Fam...

Keegan and Reese got Red Sox hats from Keegan's Godmother's parents (would that make them Keegan's God-Grandparents???). I was lucky enough to spend time with them and Ange while visiting Boston a few years ago...before Ange and I (who had spent almost every day together while the guys were completeing their F16 training) had to head to opposite parts of the world for way too long...

Long story short...we adore Ange and Nate...and now Tony and Jean are just like family too!!!! The kids love the hats...and they look so cute in them. Unfortunatly Keegan wouldnt let me take pics and wanted to be behind the camera. Thanks guys...and we hope to visit again REALLY soon. How life has changed in a few short years.

Happy Anniversary to....

US...

7 years ago today I said "I DO" to the most wonderful man in the world. A guy I have known since kindergarten and who became one of my best friends after he gave me a black eye in the 4th grade!!!

In the last 7 years we have lived in South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, Arizona, South Korea, New Mexico and now back in Arizona. We have also welcomed 2 beautiful children into our lives. Although life has been a little crazy for us (deployments, TDYs, training, moving etc) I can honestly say that I wouldnt change a thing...

Thank you Kurt for giving me the most wonderful life!!!! I look forward to all thhe adventures to come!!!!

I love you Kurt...and look forward to MANY, MANY more years with you by my side!!!!

Always...forever...

our (aka KURTS) new baby:)

Her name is Charlie:) She is a BMW 335i coupe.

Not the best pic since it was late in the evening. Kurt ordered the car, it was built in Germany and he has been waiting about a month to get it.

Happy 7th Anniversary to us and say goodbye to the flight pay increase he just started getting:)

Kurt is out waxing as we speak (STS)...yes, in the 100 degree weather. Must be love!!!

Have a great weekend!!!

Here she is...

Lets go fly a kite...

Keegan and Reese had so much fun flying kites on the beach...and Keegan even tried to do it all by himself since after watching someone do something once he is convinced that "Keegan do it!!!!" I just love the pics of them looking up into the sky in amazement!!!! One of the kites was called a parafoil kite and basically flew on its own. I got it at Walgreens for $5...and highly suggest it for low maintenance yet fun kite flying with kiddos.

more pics of reese...

I know...poor Keegan is being ignored...but Reese was just way too easy to photograph during this trip. I am going to use several of these pics as her one year pics too...

My big one year old girl. My has this past year gone fast!!!! I truly cant imagine my life without a little girl!!! Every near nervous breakdown due to parenthood is totally worth it when you get to be right there to see your children smile, laugh, learn and grow!!!!

No...I did not set her on a bed of shells...she went there all by herself and loved it. I have had a few comments about how that was a mean picture. I love photography...but I dont torture the kids to get a good pic, I promise!!!!

Looking for shells with Grandpa

Enjoying the scenery

She saw her cousins writing love letters to their boyfriends/girlfriends in the sand and decided that she would too:)

Reese was IN LOVE with seashells!!!!

hair...

this pic is proof that Reese isnt completely bald. As a matter of fact her little bit of hair even got curly with the humidity.

yummy...sand???

So...you would think the tears in the pic are b/c Reese realized that the sand was gross. Instead she is mad b.c everyone was wiping it out of her mouth. She thought it was delicious!!!

Reeses beach adventures:)

Reese loved the sand...and was thrilled when grandpa buried her up to the waist:)

She also was obsessed with washing her feet off in the showers by the pool...as was her brother:)

Keegan and Reese like their grandpa just a little bit:)
