Adios...
This past weekend we farewelled our squadron commander and his wife. We have had a wonderful year and a half in the Spikes and I realized how difficult change is even for military families that are VERY accustomed to transition. We were blessed to have such supportive and laid back leadership, and Cholo and Shelly led us through the best and the worst of times. I think I have come to realize that an amazing leader is able to keep everything running the way it should be without anyone feeling like they have someone telling them what to do. We wish them the best as they adventure off into civilian life (still an insane concept to Kurt and I!!!) and are excited to see what the next chapter of the Spike story will be as Battman and Nicole take the reigns. No matter how hard it is to say goodbye to friends, our military family is amazing!!! We are so fortunate to be a part of such an amazing group of people!!!!

Belonging to a group who's men protect and serve our country and the wives and children who give so much that non military families haven't a clue about ( husbands and daddy's often gone from home...even during birthdays and holidays..dance recitals and scoccer games ) not to mention the danger of their daily jobs, makes you belong to a VERY honored group. You should all be very proud!!!! I am proud of you....and thankful!! I have a son who is retired out of the Navy with 20 years..he served on 2 different aircraft carriers in those 20 years. Anyone who makes a career of devoting their life to the defense of our country and the families that follow them in that pursuit are all heroes in my book.
Luv to you all
