Good fortune...

I now believe in fortune cookies. I know, my previous post was about praying in regards to Keegan and Reese and potential separation anxiety since we are participating in a Mothers Day Out program. But everyone knows that God is a mysterious man...and I also think he has one heck of a sense of humor ( I was going to write hell in that sentence...but that just seemed wrong). Anyway...I worked on Tuesday and took the kids with me. They were both really good and had fun. Today I dropped them off...and Keegan (my mama's boy) just about lost it!!! It was full up crying with tears. Could there be anything more heartbreaking than standing on the other side of a mirrored window watching your child cry??? Did I mention that Reese didnt care at all????My friend Anne Marie was there for moral support and to crawl back to the door (she didnt want her daughter to see her either) and let the moms in charge know that I had binkys in my bag. After a few more minutes not being able to settle Keegan down they gave him his binky and life was grand. I left...got SO much done and even topped the day off with a pedicure!!! When I went back I watched the kids for a few minutes from the window again and they were SOOOO happy. Just playing and enjoying being out of the house. When Ii walked into the room I expected them to come running...but they just looked at me, said hi and just kept doing what they were doing. Keegan talked all the way home about going outside to swing, that Reese pooped, and that Grace hugged him!!!! And the moms said that they were both great and that Keegan was the helper in the class. He made sure everyone was hydrated and supervised diaper changes:)

So...to top a lazy mom day off we stopped at Panda Express for lunch...and here is what the fortune cookie said....

"Get away from home awhile to restore energy"

Well...that must be a sign right!!!!

So...to all of you moms out there that might have worse separation anxiety than your kids....

Remember how important you are also. If you dont have time to relax and recharge then you are no good to anyone. And as much as we would all like to think that our children just couldnt possibly survive without us, they really are quite resiliant creatures!!!!

Have a wonderful weekend!!!!

Annie

Ain't that the truth?! I am determined to schedule myself a long weekend trip to Korea in the spring for some shopping! Wish me luck in that endeavor!!

Thanks Annie, I needed that post... I hate the thought of leaving Levi, but I need to be reminded that it's good and while he might cry at the beginning, he'll be fine! Thank you!
